General Conclusion
In summary, it can be said that NLP and Rousseau's philosophy are not
irreconcilable opposites. Instead, NLP can be utilized as a "path back to authentic nature"
that helps individuals shed the outer layer corrupted by society. NLP is
characterized as a tool with the potential not to reshape human nature, but
rather to restore it. It aids in
recognizing that the fulfillment of our deepest longing lies in connection with
our authentic self.
The Role of the
Ethical NLP Coach
The ethical NLP coach is less a technician
focused on quick material success and more a spiritual guide. Their primary task is to support the coachee in
shedding the layers imposed by society and reconnecting with their "noble nature". The coach's
attitude requires them to view themselves not as a programmer, but as a
companion who helps the coachee to deprogram
themselves from social conditioning
and find their way back to their authentic, free, and compassionate nature. This requires the ethical coach to
respect the natural pace of human beings, patiently accompanying them on their
path of "deprogramming".
Analogy: NLP, when used ethically, acts like a restoration artist cleaning an old masterpiece. The artist doesn't paint a new picture (reshape nature), but carefully removes the layers of dirt and grime (social conditioning and corruption) that have obscured the original beauty (the authentic, noble self).
